What is Motionize Paddle Edge?

Motionize Paddle Edge is a multi-sensor kit for tracking your paddling motions and receiving real-time feedback, complete with world-class personal coaching.

What is Motionize Superior?

Motionize SUPerior paddle tracker is the first real time stand up paddling tracker that attaches to your paddle and allows improving all elements of your paddling.

Will the feedback I get from the Motionize Products be personalized?

Absolutely! Our products consider your individual body measurements and equipment. After learning your style and analyzing it with thousands of hours of test data, we provide the comments that matter most to you and can help you improve in real time.

Are Motionize products for professionals or amateurs?

Our products are for everyone. From amateur to pro level, we monitor a broad range of parameters and offers individualized coaching so you can improve how you work your body and equipment no matter where your skill level lies.

What if I have more than one gear set?

No problem. You may enter any number of gear sets to your personal profile. Before each session, select the equipment you intend to use. You can also select your favorite equipment, which will be your default selection. The tracking of your movement will adjust accordingly.

How will your products help me improve?

We use advanced, dedicated algorithms, designed to learn the user’s technique over time and make suggestions regarding paddling style. We analyzed the key aspects of paddling technique together with leading coaches and athletes. Using this knowledge, we provide you with feedback that makes the most difference as well as little tweaks to help you improve.

What comes with the Motionize Paddle Edge kit?

The kit comes complete with one paddle sensor, one kayak sensor , two securing leashes, two mounting stickers, a charger, a USB adapter, and a micro-USB cable, and a universal mount from RAM® Mounts.

What comes with the Motionize SUPerior kit?

The kit comes complete with one paddle sensor, one mounting sticker, a charger, a micro-USB cable, and a hard carry case.

Do I need a smartphone to use your products?

Yes, feedback and coach comments are received via our dedicated Motionize smartphone apps.

Will it fit my gear?

Yes. Our sensors fit easily on all paddle types, touring, sea and sit-on-top kayaks.

Our sensor’s battery can last up to 5 hours of use.

What does Motionize Paddle Edge measure?

The system measures speed, pace, distance traveled, time elapsed, distance traveled per stroke, stroke count, calories burned (when using a heart rate monitor), paddle depth, stroke length left & right, strokes per minute, goal completion, and interval sessions.

What does Motionize SUPerior measure?

What operating systems does the app support?

The Motionize Paddle App requires IOS version 8 and up, and Android version 5 and up

If I seem to have a software problem while working with the app what can I do?

How do I connect my sensors to the app?

To connect your sensors, you must first enable Bluetooth in your phone settings. Next, verify that the paddle sensor is active. Once the sensors are recognized by your phone, you can connect them via the “pair devices” screen in the app.

How do I rearrange the data in the split screen view?

You can select the parameter fields shown in the split screen via Settings>Session Settings>Parameter Selection Screen.

No strokes display in the top view screen and/or gauges aren’t moving.

  • Make sure your sensors are charged and synced with the app.
  • Close the session and start a new one.
  • Check that the sensors are installed correctly (see the User Guide for directions).
  • Paddle in a straight line for 50 strokes.
  • If the issue consists contact our tech support at contact us

How accurate is the data on my app?

Very accurate. The system captures your motions thousands of times a minute to achieve maximum accuracy, which is also affected by user performance, sea conditions, etc.

How do I review my stats?

You can view your performance and progress by checking the reports generated for each session on the history screen.

Can I share my stats?

Yes, via the share options on the report screen.

What heart-rate monitor straps are supported? How can i pair mine with the app?

The Motionize Paddle app supports most Bluetooth-based heart-rate monitor straps. Connect them to the app via the “pair devices” screen.

I received an alert saying registration to the app failed. What do I do?

Failure to register is usually the result of no internet connection. Make sure your phone has a WiFi connection and/or that the phone’s cellular data plan is active.

Water drops mimic fingers touching the screen while i paddle. What do I do?

While in an active session, the phone screen will be locked automatically to avoid this “wet fingers syndrome”.

You can switch between screens, start, pause or end a session using the paddle sensor’s power button.

Technical FAQ

How can i reset the sensor?

Holding the sensor button for 30 seconds will reset it.

My sensor isn't charging, what can I do?

Make sure to slide the sensor onto the provided charger leading with the black band side. The sensor should slide all the way in with no gap left.

The LED’s will light up one by one, “counting” the level of charge.

I’m having a Bluetooth pairing problem, what should I do?

1.Turn the Bluetooth setting on your phone off and on again.
2.Close the app and launch it again. Turn off and on both of your sensors.
3.If the problem consists, long press the sensors button for more than 30 seconds to reset them.
4.If there is still no change, contact our technical supports at contact us

How does the system communicate with my smartphone?

Our sensors communicate with the smartphone via Bluetooth Smart.

How do I charge the device?

In your Motionize kit, you will find a charger compatible with our sensors. See the User Guide for charging instructions.

What do the LED lights of the Motionize Paddle sensors indicate?

1 LED pulse on/off – sensor is on

3 LEDs pulse on/off – sensor low battery

Short press the sensor button for battery level indication – LEDs will light up one by one. 3 LEDs = full battery, 2 LEDs = battery at 2/3 capacity, 1 LED = battery at 1/3 capacity.

When Charging the sensors: 1 LED pulse = battery low, 1+2 LED pulsing = battery is 2/3 charged, 1+2+3 LEDs pulsing = battery is full.

The sensor can not be turned off, what can i do?

Press and hold the sensor button for 30 seconds, it will reset.

What does the LED’s display indicate?

1 LED on – sensor is starting

1 LED flashing – sensor is on

2 LED’s flashing one by one – battery is charging @50%

3 LED’s flashing one by one – battery is charging @75%

3 LED’s on – battery is fully charged

3 LED’s flashing – battery is depleted

I seem to be stuck in the calibration screen

Our sensors are designed to work on water, and large magnetic or metallic object may interfere with the calibration process. Make sure you turn the sensor 360 degrees in all directions, if this does not work, turn the app and sensors off and on again.
